Shab-e-Miraj – Night of the Ascension

A gathering marking 27 Rajab, the night of the Isra and Mi'raj, when the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was taken by night from Makkah to Jerusalem and then raised through the heavens.

Why It Matters

It was on this night that the five daily prayers were made obligatory, which is why the occasion is so closely associated with salah. The gathering reflects on that connection and on what the journey meant for a Prophet who had, in that same period, lost both his wife Khadijah and his uncle Abu Talib.
