Shab-e-Barat – Night of Forgiveness

A night of worship, remembrance and dua marking 15 Sha'ban, traditionally observed as a night of divine mercy and forgiveness.

• Zikr and Salaat-o-Salaam
• Bayan
• Collective dua
• Refreshments through the night

How the Night Is Spent

Many people use the occasion to seek forgiveness, pray for those who have died, and make dua for the year ahead. Some remain for the whole night; others come for part of it. Both are fine, and there is no expectation either way.

Fasting

Many in our community fast the following day. If you intend to, remember to eat before dawn.
